McLaren Creates a New Set of Wheels 'Extreme 600W' Bike for High-Income Riders

McLaren Automotive has unveiled its debut electric mountain bike range, headlined by the 'Extreme 600W'. This new lineup caters to high-income riders with a taste for the extreme, offering power and performance that mirrors McLaren's iconic supercars.


The 'Extreme 600W' is a full-suspension e-mountain bike, designed to deliver an authentically McLaren high-performance experience. It features a mid-mount motor delivering up to 600W of power, which is reportedly the world's most powerful street-legal electric mountain bike. The bike boasts 161Nm of torque, which is nearly double that of the Bosch CX motor and Shimano EP801 power unit.


McLaren's venture into the cycling world is a testament to the brand's commitment to pushing the boundaries of performance. The 'Extreme 600W' and its counterparts in the lineup embody the defining qualities of McLaren's iconic supercars, offering carbon-fibre construction and next-generation electrification.


The bike's design is a fusion of form and function, with a one-piece carbon fiber handlebar integrating a McLaren-car-like display. It comes equipped with a SRAM XX Eagle AXS 12-speed electronic-shift drivetrain, a RockShox Lyrik Rush RC fork with 160 mm of travel, a RockShox RS Deluxe Select+ rear shock with 145 mm of travel, SRAM G2 RE 4-piston hydraulic disc brakes, and custom carbon-rimmed wheels.


McLaren's entry into the e-bike market comes at a time when the demand for high-performance electric bikes is on the rise. The 'Extreme 600W' is a testament to McLaren's ability to translate its expertise in high-performance vehicles into the cycling world.


The 'Extreme 600W' is available in limited numbers and can be ordered through McLaren's website. It is priced at $11,950, making it a luxury item for high-income riders who seek the thrill of high-performance cycling.
