Nathan Wade Breaks Silence: Former Special Prosecutor Speaks Out on Trump Election Interference Case and Fani Willis Relationship

Former Fulton County special prosecutor Nathan Wade has finally spoken out for the first time since his resignation from the high-profile election interference case against Donald Trump and others. Wade's departure from the case followed a disqualification battle over his relationship with District Attorney Fani Willis.

In an exclusive interview with ABC News, Wade expressed his thoughts on the disqualification, his relationship with Willis, and the impact of his resignation on the case. "I resigned in the interest of democracy, in dedication to the American public, and to move this case forward as quickly as possible," Wade stated. "The furtherance of the rule of law and democracy is and has always been the North Star of our combined efforts in the prosecution of those who are alleged to have attempted to overthrow the results of Georgia's 2020 presidential election."

Wade's resignation came after a Fulton County judge ruled that either he or Willis had to step down for the case to proceed, due to concerns about their relationship. The judge's decision followed allegations from a Trump co-defendant, Michael Roman, who claimed there was a romantic relationship between Wade and Willis, and that Willis had improperly benefited from that relationship.

Despite stepping down from the case, Wade expressed his pride in the work he and his team had accomplished. "Seeking justice for the people of Georgia and the United States, and being part of the effort to ensure that the rule of law and democracy are preserved, has been the honor of a lifetime," he said.

Wade's resignation has raised questions about the impact on the ongoing case against Donald Trump and others. Fani Willis has accepted Wade's resignation and thanked him for his efforts in leading the election fraud case against Trump and 14 other defendants for trying to overturn the results of the presidential election in Georgia in 2020.

As the case continues to unfold, the public is left to ponder the implications of Wade's resignation and the ongoing legal battles surrounding the election interference allegations.
