Ohio Billionaire Takes $20M Sub to Titanic Site: A Bold Move to Restore Faith in Deep-Sea Exploration

Ohio billionaire Larry Connor is set to make a bold statement about the safety of deep-sea exploration by taking a $20 million submersible to the Titanic site. The venture comes in the wake of the tragic OceanGate implosion last year that claimed the lives of five individuals, including a billionaire, his son, and three others.

Connor, a real estate investor from Ohio, has teamed up with Triton Submarines to build a state-of-the-art submersible capable of diving to the depths of the Titanic wreckage. The aim is to demonstrate that the industry has learned from the mistakes of the past and that such expeditions can now be carried out safely. This move is seen as a significant step towards restoring confidence in deep-sea exploration, which was shaken by the OceanGate incident.
